Week 6 - Athletics Special!

Hi Room 15
Wow what a week! This term is just zooming by. I think the highlight of Week 6 would have to be Tawa Intermediate's Athletics Day.

It was fantastic to see so members of the First Fifteen wear Pouakai Pink to support our syndicate. Who do you think had the best costume? I quite liked Giorgi's fairy outfit but TJ from Room 15 had a pink P in his hair which was epic.

How did you athletics day go for you?

My learning WIN was supervising the discus throws. Having watched the rest of the school, I think the Pouakai strategy of using the hand, pie, throw worked pretty well. What do you think?

My First Attempt in Learning was almost getting clobbered by a wayward discus. I'm afraid to say the discus was thrown by a member of the First Fifteen who shall remain nameless.

Thanks so much to Shavee for being our wandering cameraman for the day. I really like the shot of you and Ethan togther What was your favourite event? Did you have any sporting WINS? What about some First Attempts In Learning at athletics day?

  1. Hi miss Thompson
my week was a bit of a rush and it went by so quick. For drama i have got to research on my charter in romeo and Juliet it should be interesting to find what part they played in this glamorous play. overall in has a great week and have finished and achieved most of goals for the week.

I think everyone's week went by really fast.. I'm very interested in your research about a character for Romeo and Juliet. There's a great film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet which uses the dialogue from Shakespeare but has a modern setting. Which character are you thinking of studying? Sometimes the minor character's in Shakespeare's play are the most interesting.

  3. Hi Stephanie,
This week has been a little bit pressured and rushed but we seem to have worked through quite well.
My highlights for this week was probably athletics and the end of the school/working week.
Athletics because it was a chance to dress up and look awesomely Pouakai pink. Thanks table three for my new nickname, which was a stroke of genius. Sambo, very original.
Finally, weeks end. This has been a trying week for all of us and I hope we all get a good dose of relaxation. What were your highlights? Any F.A.I.L.s or Wins?

    Sambo :)

A great nickname by the way. I'm glad you had a great week and you enjoyed athletics day. Wins for me would defiantly be getting all the Learning Portfolios finished in time for you to take them home today. My F.A.I.L would be leaving my lunch on the bench on Monday morning. Have you had that that happen to you?

    2. Hi Brad
I also had to learn to stand well away from the discus as I almost got clobbered as well. I'm guessing from Lachlan's comment that he might have been the person to almost hit you. Am I right?

  6. Kia ora koto Rm15,

Athletics day was really fun for me. I really enjoyed doing long jump even though I didn't do very well at it. I almost got 2metres but I didn't quite get there. But I did have some fun doing it and hitting the sand.
My F.A.I.L was getting sand in my shoes it was really irritating.

I'm glad you had a great athletics day. I hate getting sand in my shoes too. Don't you hate it when you leave the beach and you've still got all these bits of sand hiding in your clothes? What did you enjoy about long jump?

Good to see you using both a greeting and a sign off. Glad to see you had fun at athletics and I remember your great throws at discus. Do you think Miss T's strategy helped Pouakai students in discus?
